Lenovo puts details of Moto G4 Play online

Earlier on Tuesday, Lenovo introduced the Moto G4 and G4 Plus. However, a third device appears in the G4 version, which was not mentioned during the presentation. It concerns the Moto G4 Play and it is presumably the successor to the cheap Moto E.

During the presentation in India, Lenovo only paid attention to the Moto G4 and G4 Plus. However, the Moto G4 Play can also be seen on the American website. This variant has a 5″ screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, while the other G4 models have a 5.5″ LCD with full HD resolution.

The soc is a Snapdragon 410 with four cores at 1.2GHz. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage memory. The storage can be expanded with a micro SD card. The device weighs 137 grams and has a 2800mAh battery. The camera shoots photos with a resolution of eight megapixels and has a lens with an aperture of f/2.2. There is a five-megapixel camera on the front. According to the maker, the device is equipped with ‘Pure Android’, based on Android 6.0.1.

The Moto G4 Play may be the successor to the Moto E (2015). That model has a 4.5 “screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels and uses the same Snapdragon soc. The memory is smaller with 1GB, however, and the same applies to the storage of 8GB.

Lenovo has not yet announced what the Moto G4 Play will cost. It is also not yet certain whether the G4 Play will appear in the Benelux. Currently, the smartphone is only on the American website of Motorola. There you can read that the device will be available ‘halfway through the summer’.
