The Ascent developer is working to add DLSS to PC version on Game Pass
The developer of action RPG The Ascent is in the process of adding DLSS and ray tracing to the Game Pass version of the game for PC. Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Steam version of The Ascent already has these features, but the Game Pass version does not.
PC gamers noted upon the release of The Ascent that the Game Pass version of the game, which is available through the Microsoft Store, does not support DLSS. Ray tracing also did not work in the Game Pass version of The Ascent.
Developer Neon Giant reports now on Twitter that the studio is looking at this, “with the intention of aligning it with the Steam version.” The developer also reports that the build processes are different for both versions, and that the Microsoft Store version cannot simply be ported to the Steam variant. So PC gamers with the Game Pass version of the game can probably expect a patch that will add DLSS and ray tracing. It is not known when this update would be introduced.
Specifically, it concerns the Game Pass version for PC, and not The Ascent versions for the Xbox Series X and S. Xbox consoles do not support DLSS, and in an interview with Wccftech Neon Giant said it will not introduce ray tracing on it either. those consoles. “That’s a PC-only feature,” said the developer. The studio also has no plans to add AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution feature.
