The successor of the HTC One M9 will probably not be called ‘HTC One M10’, but ‘HTC 10’. The successor of the HTC One M9 is still called ‘HTC Perfume’ or ‘HTC One M10’. Presumably HTC wants to do something about the confusion in the naming system with the name change.
Evleaks posted the message about the name change on Twitter. The tweet from Evan Blass, the man behind Evleaks, is generally right when it comes to rumors surrounding HTC. He writes in his tweet: “You heard it here first: HTC 10”, or: “You heard it here first: HTC 10”.
He immediately suppresses the possible optimism of Windows Phone fans. Suggestions that the ’10’ refers to an HTC 10 phone that runs on Windows 10 are incorrect, according to him.
Rumors that the ‘One’ brand name will expire, go back as far as August 2015. After the problems with the One M9, changing the brand name for the most expensive line wouldn’t be too bad, HTC Source suspects.
Other HTC brands include ‘One X’, ‘One’ and ‘One S’. It is therefore confusing that the most expensive line carries the ‘M’. Without ‘One M’ it would be easier to differentiate the brand’s top phones from the others.
The successor of the One M9 will have a 5.15 “amoled screen with 1440×2560 pixels and a twelve-megapixel camera. The smartphone would also run Android 6.01 with Sense 8.0 and be in possession of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530. The whole is presumably complemented. by 4GB RAM and 32GB storage memory.
