Video card manufacturers announce retail versions of Nvidia GeForce GT 710. This map is built around a two-year-old Kepler GPU. For example, the passively cooled cards that are now appearing could find their way to HTPCs.

Without much publicity, Nvidia seems to have released the GT 710 for the retail market. It is a boarding pass that Nvidia announced in March 2014 for system builders, but is now also on store shelves. The card has a GK208 GPU based on the Kepler architecture and produced at 28nm.

The clock speed is 954MHz, there is a 64-bit wide memory bus and a maximum of 2GB DDR3 can be addressed. The card is standard equipped with HDMI, DVI-D and VGA, but manufacturers make their own variations with, for example, two DVI connections. In addition, full-height versions of the card, low-profile variants and dual-slot and single-slot models, with both active and passive cooling, will also appear.

EVGA, MSI, Manli, Palit and Gigabyte, among others, have announced versions of the low-end card. The prices will probably fall between 30 and 50 euros.
