Apple denies making tool to switch from iOS to Android
Apple denies making a tool to let users easily switch from iOS to Android. That’s what the company says. It was rumored that the iPhone maker had started developing the app under pressure from European carriers.
Apple says in a statement to Recode, among others, that “there is no truth in this rumor”. “We’re focusing overall on getting users to switch from Android to iOS and it’s going well,” the company said. Apple released an app last year to help users transfer data from an Android phone to an iPhone.
The rumor came from the British newspaper The Telegraph. When the British newspaper asked Apple for a response, the iPhone maker did not comment. It is unknown why the company responded after publication.
Apple rarely responds to rumors and many of the published rumors turn out to be true. For example, the iPhone maker has never responded to the rumor that it would delete the 3.5mm connection for the next iPhone.
