Intel Introduces Second Generation Compute Sticks with Atom and Core M Processors

Intel has presented the second generation of Compute Sticks. There will be three variants with different processors. The cheapest has an Atom, the more expensive have versions of Intel’s Core M processor.

The Atom version has a quad-core X5 Z8300 on board, coupled with 2GB of memory and an emmc storage of 32GB. The stick has two USB ports and can connect to WiFi networks via the b/g/n/ac standards. In addition, the new computer stick has Bluetooth 4.0 on board. There are variants without an operating system and with Windows 10.

The cheapest version with Core M has an M3 6Y30 on board, while the more expensive one has an m5 6Y57 vPro. Both variants have 4GB DDR3 memory and emmc storage in the size of 64GB. The sticks have three USB ports, have Bluetooth 4.1 and can connect to WiFi-ac networks.

The Atom variant will cost 159 dollars in the United States, currently converted around 147 euros. The cheaper Core M version costs $399 with Windows 10, the more expensive version costs $499 without an operating system. All new Compute Sticks will be released within three months, Intel says.
