Apple starts selling 23.7″ monitor in LG UltraFine 4K series for 749 euros

Apple has put a new LG UltraFine 4K monitor in its web store. It is a 23.7″ model with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The 21.5″ version with 4096×2304 pixels is no longer available.

The new LG UltraFine 4K monitor has appeared in the Apple Store without further announcement. Apple had stopped selling the 21.5″ version for a while. The new LG monitor has type number 24MD4KL, but LG does not have the screen on its own website.

It is the successor of the 22MD4KA. Apart from the size and the resolution, the properties of the screen panel are the same. Like its predecessor, the new model has an IPS panel that can display the P3 color space and the maximum brightness is 500cd/m².

The LG UltraFine 4K screen of 23.7″ has two Thunderbolt 3 connections, compared to one USB-C port on the predecessor. The screen can therefore be connected to all MacBook Pro models that have a USB-C connection and on the 2018 iPad Pro models. The second Thunderbolt 3 connector on the monitor can be used to connect a second display or other Thunderbolt equipment, as well as three USB 3.0 connectors to connect peripherals.
