Leaked photos of the Nikon D5 show that the professional SLR camera will have a 20-megapixel sensor. Nikon recently announced that it is working on the dslr, but has not yet announced its specifications.

NikonRumors has obtained photos showing the Nikon D5. One of the images shows a menu from which it can be concluded that the sensor has a resolution of 20.7 megapixels. The current model, the Nikon D4s, has a resolution of 16.2 megapixels. It can also be seen that the housing is largely the same as the current model, but the placement of the buttons has been adjusted in a few places.

The fact that the Nikon D5 will have a 20-megapixel sensor of the full-frame format seems a certainty in view of the published photo. The other specifications have not yet been confirmed, but according to NikonRumors, the top model will receive a new focus module with 153 autofocus points. The maximum shooting speed would be 15fps, although the rumor site is not yet sure. It is also unclear whether the camera will have a 4k film function. Nikon currently does not have any DSLRs in its range that can film in 4k format.

Nikon announced the development of the D5 in November and will probably announce more about the DSLR in early 2016. In 2012 and 2014, Nikon showed the D4 and D4s respectively at the CES electronics show. Nikon will probably show the D5 this year at the trade show that takes place in Las Vegas in January.
