Nintendo and Mojang Release Minecraft: Wii U Edition on December 17
Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be released on Nintendo eShop on December 17. With this, Nintendo confirms the rumors about a Minecraft variant for its current console. The popular game has been available for other consoles for some time now.
The European Branch of Nintendo reports the arrival of the Wii U version of Minecraft on Twitter. Rumors about the game’s arrival on Wii U have been rumored for some time, now it’s been confirmed that the game will be released on December 17.
Like many titles, the game will be optionally playable on the gamepad only and will include six add-on packs as standard, including Battle & Beasts Skin packs. An additional 16 packs, including Star Wars, Skyrim and Mass Effect packs, can be purchased separately. Nintendo has announced that the price will be USD 29.99, which will probably convert to EUR 29.99.
Earlier rumors were circulating when on November 12, NeoGAF users found that a title called “Minecraft Wii U Edition” had been given an age rating on the PEGI website. Minecraft was already released for the PC in November 2011 and has been released over the years on almost all available platforms such as Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android.
