HTC introduces new One M9 variant in Taiwan
HTC has announced a new variant of the One M9 in its home country of Taiwan: the One M9s. The device combines the look of the original M9 with cheaper parts, such as the Mediatek Helio X10.
The HTC One M9s looks like a cross between the original One M9 and the M9+. Like the M9, the device has a 5″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, but the processor is the Mediatek Helio X10, which has the same soc as the M9+. At 158 grams, the smartphone weighs slightly more than the M9, but not quite. It is clear why, for example, the battery capacity has remained the same at 2840mAh.
There is 2GB memory and 16GB storage memory, which makes it clear that HTC does not position the device as a high-end smartphone. A memory card reader is provided to expand the storage memory. The camera is a 13-megapixel model instead of a 20-megapixel camera as with the M9 and M9+. The One E9 smartphones also have a 13-megapixel camera, but the version of the M9s has optical image stabilization.
HTC will start the delivery of the M9s according to GSMDome on November 21 and the device will be available in the shops for 12,900 Taiwanese dollars, currently converted around 368 euros. It is not known whether HTC will also release the model in other countries. In the One series, HTC came this year in addition to the M9 and M9 + with the One M8s, E9, E9 +, A9, ME and M9 + Supreme Camera.
