Warner Bros. gives money back to Arkham Knight until the end of the year
Warner Bros. has indicated that people with the Windows version of Batman: Arkham Knight can get their money back until the end of 2015. This is because the performance issues persist even after a four-month suspension of sales to resolve the issues.
Warner Bros community manager Yorick reports on the Steam Community that it is “unfortunate” that despite the work the company has put into the game, players are still experiencing issues such as low framerates and framerate hitches. As compensation, players can request their money back on Steam until the end of 2015. They can also get their money back for the season pass. Only returning the season pass and not the game itself is not possible. Normally players can get their money back if they apply within 14 days of purchase and have not played the game for more than 2 hours. These conditions therefore do not apply now. Warner Bros. meanwhile, continues to work on the issues and also promises to “communicate with players about the issues Warner Bros. can’t fix.”
The Windows version of Batman: Arkham Knight was withdrawn from sale two days after its release in June. A large proportion of users experienced exceptionally low frame rates and frame rate hitches. In addition, SLI support was missing and the page file regularly filled up unless players have a lot of ram and vram. The game was available again on October 28. Warner Bros. has had four months between the release and the rerelease to resolve the technical issues. Although the situation seems better than before, players are still far from satisfied with the performance in the game. SLI support is also still absent. According to anonymous sources involved in the game’s development process, Warner Bros. months before the release of the technical problems.
Valve employee Sean J states in the responses to the announcement that at the time of writing there is a problem with the return system, which means that the playing time is still taken into account. He says Valve is working to correct this.
Batman: Arkham Knight has also been released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These versions do not have the performance issues in question.
