Download Linux kernel 5.16
Linus Torvalds has version 5.16 of the Linux Kernel released† The kernel is the heart of the operating system and, simply put, it sits as a layer between the hardware and the applications. In version 5.16 we find, among other things, a futex_waitv() kernel system call which should give improved performance for games in Linux or via Wine. Graphically, support for Alder Lake S graphics has now matured and that for AMD Ryzen APUs has been greatly improved. More information is at 9to5Linux to find. Below is an overview of the most important changes in this release.
