Microsoft releases Windows April 2018 Update
Microsoft has started distributing the April 2018 Update from Windows 10. Users of the operating system can receive it by manually activating Windows Update or using the iSO.
Windows 10 users wanting the April 2018 Update download and install, can do so by using the Windows Update settings to search for the update, describes Microsoft . In addition, users can enable the Update Assistant or use the Media Creation Tool to update their system to the latest version.
However, Microsoft recommends waiting for Windows Update to automatically provide the new version. This will happen worldwide from 8 May to users who have activated automatic updating. The worldwide update takes place in phases, with Microsoft looking at which systems are the most suitable for each phase. According to Microsoft, this led to the fastest distribution of a Windows 10 update to date in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update in October last year.
The company also claims that the time required for the update to take effect , in which users can not use their system, is shortened. In the Creators Update last year, that time averaged 82 minutes; at the Fall Creators Update this was on average 51 minutes and with the April 2018 Update this would be shortened to an average of half an hour.
The April 2018 Update brings among others the functions Timeline and Near Share to Windows 10. In addition, there are visual adjustments and new functions for the Edge browser, hdr display and Defender.
