Apple hires former Samsung vice president in South Korea
Apple has hired Brandon Yoon, a former Microsoft executive and until recently a vice president at Samsung. The company from Cupertino has acquired Brandon Yoon as manager for the industry in South Korea.
Press agency Bloomberg noted that the LinkedIn profile page of Brandon Yoon now indicates that he is working is at Apple. The news agency asked Apple for a response, but a spokesperson declined to comment.
Between 2003 and 2016, Yoon held various high positions at Microsoft, after which he switched to Samsung in September 2015. There he worked until the previous month as vice president, where Yoon was responsible for, among other things, the digital strategy.
Probably he should put Apple on the map in South Korea. Apple opened its first store in the country in January, where Samsung, according to South Korean YonHap News owns more than half of the smartphone market . Apple and LG each have a market share of 17 percent in the country.
