No standard multiplayer in Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider will have “some form of multiplayer functionality so that players can expand their single-player campaign by competing with friends.” With that, the claim that the game would not contain multiplayer at all seems unfounded.

Despite that, it remains vague to say the least. A reconstruction: Xbox Magazine issue 128 featured a quote showing that developer Crystal Dynamics had to make the single-player campaign “as entertaining as possible” because the “multiplayer experience” was never stopped in the game. That way, all the time and money could be invested in developing the single-player mode.

Now Microsoft has told Videogamer.com that there is a certain functionality in the game that makes friends compete with each other. What that will look like will only become clear to the world when the game is released on November 10 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. A year later, the Microsoft consoles lose their exclusive rights and PC and Playstation 4 versions will also be released. .

In addition to all the fuss that arose around the existence or not of a multiplayer mode, screenshots also appeared online where the difference between the Xbox One and 360 version can be clearly seen. The top images are from the Xbox One and the bottom from the 360. It is clear that Lara Croft has to carry a lot more dirt with the more powerful Xbox One.
