‘Force Touch technology on Apple iPhone 6s can distinguish three touches’

The current version can distinguish two types of touch, namely a light touch and a normal touch. The sensor for the iPhone 6s adds a ‘deep press’ touch, i.e. a pressure with more force. To differentiate it from its previous Force Touch sensors, Apple would like to call its new technology 3D Touch Display.

By distinguishing three types of touch, new forms of operation can be introduced. For example, in the map application it must be possible to immediately start navigation to a specific place on the map by pressing a certain touch. Earlier rumors revealed that Apple also wants to use its Force Touch technology to create shortcuts to applications.

Apple has sent out invites to an event taking place on September 9. The new iPhone 6s is expected to be announced then.
