Rovio will soon release VR version Angry Birds for all known VR platforms
Resolution Games and Rovio have announced that a VR version of Angry Birds will be released early next year. The game will be released for all major VR platforms, both companies say. An exact release date is unknown.
The game is called Angry Birds: Isle of Pigs, both companies say in a press release that Gamasutra has posted. The Finnish Rovio owns the Angry Birds franchise, while the Swedish Resolution Games specializes in VR games, among other things.
Both companies are not disclosing much about the upcoming game and images have not been released. Rovio only says that players with Angry Birds characters can shoot the familiar green pigs, but that has been the basis for every Angry Birds game. Neither company has named a price.
It is not the first time that Angry Birds will be playable in VR. Rovio has already shown demos of Angry Birds on the Samsung Gear VR in 2016 and the company also released an Angry Birds game for the Magic Leap One headset.
