Lenovo Introduces ThinkPad Laptops With Intel Whiskey Lake Processors
Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad L390 and L390 Yoga laptops. The manufacturer supplies the models with different processors from Intel’s Whiskey Lake generation. The Yoga comes with a stylus.
Both laptops have a 13.3″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. In both cases the screen is touch-sensitive, but the Yoga has, as befits the name, a screen that can be folded so that it can be used as a tablet. some consequences for the weight: the Yoga weighs 1.6 kilograms compared to 1.5 kilograms for the regular ThinkPad L390.
The manufacturer also supplies the Yoga with a stylus and infrared camera for authentication via a face scan. According to Tom’s Hardware, the L390 will not only be available in configurations with Intel’s Whiskey Lake processors, but also with an Intel Celeron. Intel announced Whiskey Lake in August. The processors appear in the U-series, are still produced on Intel’s 14nm++ process and the underlying architecture is still Kaby Lake, but the clock speeds are slightly higher than the previous U-generation of Core chips.
The ThinkPad L390 will have a suggested retail price of $659 in the US and the L390 Yoga will cost $889 there. They will be released in the US this month, but when they will be available in the Benelux is unknown.
