McLaren edition OnePlus 6T with 10GB ram costs 709 euros
Smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has announced that the McLaren edition of the OnePlus 6T will be available from December 13 for a price of 709 euros. This version of the existing OnePlus 6T has 10GB of RAM and a 30W charging function.
In Britain’s Woking at the McLaren Technology Center, OnePlus and McLaren have announced a ‘long-term partnership’. That collaboration currently results in the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, a device that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau describes as ‘our fastest and most advanced device ever’ and the first smartphone to come out with 10GB of RAM.
That point of speed can be seen in Warp Charge 30, a function for 30W charging. According to OnePlus, twenty minutes of charging is enough to use the phone for a full day; the company reports that the battery is back at 50 percent after twenty minutes of charging.
OnePlus works in the McLaren edition of the 6T with a two-cell battery, reports The Verge, where each cell can handle 15W. OnePlus sister company Oppo uses the faster SuperVOOC. This also works with a two-cell battery with 25W per cell. Warp Charge should in any case be faster than Dash Charge, which the regular OnePlus 6 and 6T use.
OnePlus states that new chips have been used in both the device and the charger, which are specifically intended to make this fast charging possible. In this case, there would be no heating of the device; that is probably limited to the charger.
As for the design, OnePlus says it has used carbon fiber in the McLaren edition and there are orange accents. It would be the same material used in the 2018 McLaren MCL33 Formula 1 race car. Except for the faster loading, other materials used and the 10GB of RAM, the McLaren edition seems to match the regular 6T. The new phone has 256GB of storage.
The device will be available from December 13 via the website of OnePlus and Belsimpel for 709 euros. The regular 6T also has 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The 8GB version of the regular OnePlus 6T with 128GB storage was released at the end of October for 589 euros and the 6GB variant for 559 euros.
