Rumor: Intel is working on Core F processors without igpu

Intel is said to be planning to release F variants of its recent desktop processors. The line of processors would not have an integrated GPU. For example, a variant of the Core i9-9900K without a graphics chip would appear.

The information comes from the Taiwanese site Gamer.com.tw. In a posting, the list Core i9-9900KF, i7-9700KF, i5-9600KF, i5-9400F, i3-9350KF and i3-8100F, with the designation GT0, to indicate that the chips do not have a GPU. Intel uses a GT rating, from Graphics Technology, for its igpus. For example, the Core i9-9900K has a GT2 GPU.

A possible reason for the possible arrival of desktop processors without an active igpu could be that Intel can supply more processors in this way. Intel finds it difficult to produce enough processors, because a lot of demands are placed on its 14nm production. Intel has had to produce more and more chips at 14nm because its 10nm successor has suffered significant delays. Core processors with defects in the GPU part could still be delivered.

In recent years, Intel has often made processors without a functional GPU. For example, its only 10nm processor, the mobile Core i3-8121U, has no GPU. In 2012, the Core i5-3350P appeared for the desktop, without an active GPU.
