Download Firmware Synology DSM 6.0.2 build 8451.2
Synology has released an update for Disk Station Manager version 6.0.2. DSM is the management software that runs on several of the company’s NAS products. The Disk, Cube and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. In this way, backups of all clients on the network can also be made and files can be downloaded via http, ftp, bittorrent, usenet and emule, so that, for example, energy-hungry PCs can switch off at night while the download just comes in. Furthermore, audio and video files can be streamed over the network via the built-in iTunes server, a dynamic website can be hosted using PHP and MySQL and the device can act as a print server.
To be able to install version 6.0, at least version 5.2 must be present. Furthermore, it is only suitable for the NAS models whose type number ends with 11 or higher. For the other conditions and the different downloads, look at this page† In version 6.0 we find improvements in Cloud, Note, Photo and Video Station, there is a collaboration drive for spreadsheets, the possibilities to make backups and restore are improved and the NAS can now be equipped with a certificate from Let’s Encrypt. accessed via a secure connection. Also, DSM is now fully 64-bit, which means performance improvements can be observed. In addition, there are several new features for the high-performance models, such as support for the Btrfsfile system, a comprehensive webmail client and email server, a Load Balancer, a Document Viewer, and Docker support has also been improved. In this update, which is not yet offered everywhere via the auto update, the following changes and improvements have been made:
