World of Warcraft Classic will be available to all WoW subscribers from Summer 2019
World of Warcraft Classic will be released in Summer 2019 and will be available to all WoW subscribers. There does not seem to be a separate revenue model for the classic version of the mmorpg.
John Hight, who is responsible for World of Warcraft at Blizzard, announced this at the opening ceremony of BlizzCon. Players do not have to purchase World of Warcraft Classic separately and there is no separate subscription to play on the classic servers. A demo of WoW Classic is now playable for people who have a Virtual Ticket for BlizzCon.
Later at BlizzCon, Blizzard will reveal more about WoW Classic, which will be based on version 1.12 of the game, an update released in 2006. The publisher will also provide more information about Tides of Vengeance, an upcoming update for World of Warcraft’s Battle for Azeroth expansion. During the presentation, a cinematic trailer was shown continuing the Battle for Azeroth storyline.
