Apple withdraws watchOS 5.1 update after issues with Apple Watch Series 4
Apple has withdrawn the watchOS 5.1 update that was released on Tuesday. Some Apple Watch Series 4 users who installed the update may no longer be able to start their smartwatch. Apple has not yet responded to the issues.
Including on Reddit and on Twitter Apple Watch Series 4 users are reporting that they installed the update to watchOS 5.1 and their smartwatch stopped working after that. Affected watches will no longer boot after the update; the screen only shows the Apple logo.
It seems that only the fourth generation of the Apple Watch, which was announced in September, is experiencing issues with the update. Users of other models are not known to experience similar problems.
Apple has not yet made a solution available or responded to the issues. However, the manufacturer has withdrawn the update for the time being. WatchOS 5.1 mainly contained bug fixes and added a fourth-generation feature to automatically contact emergency services if the watch detects no movement for a minute after a hard fall.
