FileZilla has released a new version of its eponymous open source FTP client, this time in beta. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions.

Be careful with the default ‘recommended’ download, because that’s a Download Manager from SourceForge, which offers some optional offerings before getting the real installer. On the more download optionspage does contain clean installation files and this beta is also clean. New in version 3.10.3 is that there is now also a 64bit version for Windows. The following improvements have been made since the beta:

  • Fixed local filelist statusbar regression introduced in 3.10.3-beta2
  • If saving passwords is disabled, don’t ask for the password again after connecting via the quickconnect bar and then starting a download via drag&drop.
