Linus Torvalds Returns to Linux Development

The break that Linus Torvalds had taken for himself is over after a little over a month. His temporary replacement hands over to Torvalds the oversight of Linux kernel 4.19 development.

Torvalds will be attending the Open Source Summit Europe in Scotland to consult with Linux developers and has regained oversight on Linux 4.19 development from his temporary replacement Greg Kroah-Hartman. Torvalds has not yet said anything about his return.

Just over a month ago, Torvalds announced that it was taking a break and temporarily stepping away from Linux development. It was striking that he apologized for his past behavior and indicated that he would seek help for improvement. The Finnish-American Linux pioneer has had frequent tussles with fellow developers in the past and is known for not mincing his words.
