Renders show Motorola G7 with drop-shaped notch at the top of the screen

Renders of the unannounced Motorola smartphone G7 have appeared, based on CAD drawings. Those renders show that the device is likely to be developed with a small, teardrop-shaped notch at the top of the screen.

The images appeared on the website Mysmartprice, after the well-known smartphone insider Onleaks provided them. They are not official renders of the smartphone, but impressions made on CAD drawings collected from unnamed sources.

The drawings show, among other things, the design of the smartphone, where the small notch at the top of the screen in particular catches the eye. Motorola’s G7 appears to have a teardrop-shaped notch, similar to recent smartphones. It’s not the first smartphone with a screen notch released by Motorola; that was the p30 announced in august. It also appears that the manufacturer has put the fingerprint scanner on the back; therefore it seems that no scanner is placed behind the screen.

It will probably be some time before the G7 is released. Motorola released the new G6 series earlier this year, which means that the new series will probably only follow next year. This is also evident from the fact that only CAD drawings have been leaked, and no product photos or actual images of the smartphone.
