Google is adding support to Assistant that will allow developers to easily sell in-app purchases and subscriptions. Furthermore, Google Sign-In is added to the voice assistant, so that logging in to a Google account is faster.

Users can close transactions for digital goods via Google Assistant with the new tool. These can be closed directly from the conversation in Assistant. This concerns, for example, subscriptions, upgrades, expansions or new levels. For now, support for this is only available in the United States, but Google reports that it will be expanded to more regions soon. It is not yet clear whether and when this functionality will be available in the Benelux.

Google has also added support for Google Sign-In to Assistant. In the past, users had to manually enter their name and password if needed, but now users can link their Google account with a single touch or voice confirmation. This also works with smart speakers. Finally, Google has visually polished its digital voice assistant for use on smartphones.
