MSI Announces Water-Cooled RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti Video Cards
MSI has announced four Sea Hawk X versions of GeForce RTX graphics cards, two of which feature a large EK Water Block cooling block. The two regular Sea Hawk models have hybrid all-in-one water cooling.
The four models are the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Sea Hawk X, the 2080 Sea Hawk X, the 2080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X and the 2080 Sea Hawk EK X. The Sea Hawk EK X models feature, as the name implies, a cooling block from EK Water Blocks, which must be connected to existing water cooling.
It is a cooling block that occupies the entire card and in which the GPU, the memory and the VRMs are therefore cooled. The base of the cooling block is copper-based, provided with a layer of nickel. The cards support MSI’s Mystic Light RGB lighting. The 2080 Ti EK X is clocked 13.5 percent higher than the reference card, with the 2080 EK X that is 8.8 percent.
The non-EK cards have all-in-one cooling for the GPU, based on a copper base plate in combination with a 120mm fan and an aluminum radiator. MSI has also increased the clock speeds of the 2080 Ti Sea Hawk X and 2080 Sea Hawk X by 13.5 and 8.8 percent, respectively. The prices are still unknown.
