Tesla unveils electric pick-up Cybertruck (video)

Tesla has unveiled the Cybertruck, a futuristic electric pickup truck. The design of the vehicle is – to put it mildly – ‘unconventional’ and the opinions about it vary widely. Something painfully went wrong with the presentation by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

As we are used to from Tesla, the Cybertruck is super fast. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 2.9 seconds. The operating radius is also considerable. There will be three versions of the Cybertruck, with a range of 400, 500 and 800 kilometers.

At the same time, the Cybertruck is also super sturdy. The car looks a lot like an armored vehicle and comes pretty close to that. The ‘Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled’ stainless steel body is so strong that, according to Tesla, it can withstand even bullets from small firearms. During the presentation of the Cybertruck, it was struck with a big hammer, without any effect.

The windows should also be made of reinforced glass (Armor Glass), but the demonstration of this was painfully wrong, as can be seen in the video below. A ‘tester’ threw a metal ball against a window, which was not exactly intact. Exactly the same happened on a second attempt. Ceo Elon Musk of Tesla stood by and quickly called that the ball did not go through in any case.
 

The interior is, as we are used to from Tesla, quite bare with only a large 17-inch touchscreen in the front. The prices of the Cybertruck, the first copies of which will not be released until the end of 2021 at the earliest, start in the United States at 40,000 dollars (36,000 euros).
