FCC documents have emerged about a remote control in Ikea’s Trådfri series of smart home products. It is an accessory that seems to be intended to be able to operate the blinds remotely.

The FCC information was spotted by the German iPhone ticker. This is a product with type name E1766, which is described as a remote control for opening and closing sun blinds. In addition, an accessory with type designation E1743 is included in the specification. This is an on and off switch. Both products fall in the Trådfri series, the name of Ikea’s smart home product line.

It is not known whether and if so when the products will appear on the market. It is clear that Ikea is expanding its Trådfri series. For example, in August it was announced that the group will enter the market for smart power strips. The series is now mainly about smart lighting, whose products have support for Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
