Horizon Zero Dawn board game hits Kickstarter goal
Board game maker Steamforged Games has raised enough money on Kickstarter to make its Horizon Zero Dawn board game a reality. The campaign will be live for one day and so far EUR 435,000 has been raised. The game should be delivered in March 2020.
The makers had set the goal of raising around 172,000 euros. That goal was achieved two hours after the campaign went online. At the time of writing, nearly 4,000 people have pledged money to the project.
The board game is made with permission from Guerrilla Games and Sony. The game can be played with one to four players and it is possible to work together or play against each other. The makers have put a video online explaining the gameplay.
The base game includes figures of four Hunters, Watchers, Striders, Grazers, Scrappers, two Shell-Walkers, and two Sawtooths. There will also be expansions with extra figures. Interested parties can sign up via Kickstarter for a package with two expansions and a total of more than ninety figures. Backers must pledge at least £95 for this, which is about 106 euros.
Steamforged Games board games are known for their detailed figures. The company has previously made game-themed board games, such as the Dark Souls game, which also raised funds through Kickstarter in 2016. Steamforged is also working on a Resident Evil 2 board game.
