Lenovo to ship thin ThinkPad X1 Extreme laptop with Core i9 hexacore

Lenovo has officially announced the ThinkPad X1 Extreme. Lenovo focuses on both business and home use and comes with configurations with a Core i9 hexacore and a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti MaxQ.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme appeared at an online store earlier this week but has now been officially announced during the IFA electronics fair in Berlin. The laptop with a 15.6″ screen with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels will come in different configurations in September. There will be models with the Core i7-8750H hexacore and Core i5-8300H quadcore, but a model with an undisclosed amount will follow in December. mentioned Core i9, probably the Core i9-8950HK.

As far as memory and storage are concerned, up to 64GB of RAM can be installed, with up to two PCI-e SSDs. The 18 mm thick laptop weighs 1.7 kilograms and comes in a housing that is made of, among other things, carbon fibers, with an aluminum bottom plate. Earlier it appeared that it concerns the same housing as the ThinkPad P1 workstation announced in mid-August. The screen supports HDR playback with Dolby Vision and can display 100 percent of the AdobeRGB color space. The system can handle fast charging, which means that it can be charged to 80 percent of its battery capacity in one hour. As far as I/O is concerned, there are, among other things, two USB ports with Thunderbolt 3.

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme will be available in the Benelux from September for a starting price of 1695 euros. It is not known what configuration this concerns and what the price of the version with Core i9 will be from December is also unknown.
