Nintendo’s latest figures show that the company shipped 16.95 million Switch consoles in the past fiscal year and met its fiscal year target. In addition, nearly 120 million Nintendo games have been sold.

The 16.95 million Nintendo Switch consoles shipped represent an increase of 12.7 percent from a year earlier. In total, 34.74 million Nintendo Switch consoles have now been sold since its release in early 2017, according to recent financial figures. Nintendo sold 2.47 million copies in the past quarter. That also means that the Nintendo Switch has now sold more than the Nintendo 64 in its entire lifespan. However, the Wii and the 3DS are still the leaders in this area with over 101 million and 75 million copies respectively.

The top selling games were Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee, Super Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Software sales have increased 86.7 percent in the past year from the previous year; these came in at 118.55 million copies.

The profit in the past fiscal year amounted to approximately 2 billion euros, an increase of 40.6 percent compared to the previous year. The profit was 200 million euros higher than originally forecast.

For the coming fiscal year, Nintendo predicts that it will make a profit of 2.08 billion euros. The company is relying on Nintendo Labo expansions, Super Mario Maker 2, Fire Embled: Three Houses, Pokémon Sword & Shield, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and other titles to help achieve this goal.
