Overwatch gets Workshop mode for creating custom rules
Blizzard provides Overwatch with a Workshop mode in which players can create custom games with their own rules with scripts. For example, the developer mentions a “the floor is lava” mode, where players catch fire when they hit the ground.
In the Workshop, players can choose existing game modes and customize their rules extensively. That works with Scripts, which can contain Rules, Conditions, Events and Actions. In the announcement Blizzard gives detailed explanation about all possibilities.
It is, among other things, possible to add text in the image under certain circumstances. Workshop users could use that to process a story in their custom game mode.
The Workshop is currently only available with the PC version of Overwatch, via the public test server. Created scripts can be shared on other platforms. Later, Workshop will also be coming to the console versions.
