Rumor: Xbox One S without disc tray costs 229 euros
The Xbox One S without disc tray, which would be called All Digital, will be released on May 7 for 229 euros. This is reported by the German site WinFuture based on its own sources. This makes it cheaper than other Microsoft consoles.
Microsoft ships the Xbox One S All Digital with Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3, WinFuture claims. The German site often has information about unannounced smartphones and it is always correct. The site also publishes images of the console, which Microsoft would ship with a single, white controller.
With a price of 229 euros, it would be the cheapest introductory price of an Xbox One to date. On the other hand, a bundle of a 1TB Xbox One S with disc tray and a game has already fallen to around that value. There is only one game included.
The console was announced this week and it should go on sale on May 7. There have been rumors for some time about an Xbox variant without a disc tray. The production of the console would be a lot cheaper because of the omission of the possibility to import game discs.
