MSI releases BIOS updates with Core i-9000 support for Z370 motherboards

MSI is releasing bios updates for its Z370 motherboards, adding support for the upcoming Intel Core i-9000 processors. Intel hasn’t announced those chips yet. The first three CPUs will probably be released in October.

On its website, MSI mentions fifteen Z370 motherboards for which a new bios update comes out. New is the support for Core i-9000 processors. Users can download the new bios from the support pages of the respective motherboards, but at the time of writing, the downloads are not yet available.

On Wednesday, roadmaps showed that Intel will probably release the first three CPUs in that series in October. It concerns the Coffee Lake-S Refresh generation. In the Core i-9000 series, octacores are coming to Intel’s mainstream platform for the first time. The top model, the Core i9-9900K, has eight cores and sixteen threads.

Intel will release the Z390 chipset with some improvements along with the arrival of the new processors, but Z370 motherboard users will not be forced to upgrade.
