AOC has introduced the Q3279VWFD8, a monitor with a screen diagonal of 31.5 “and an IPS panel with a maximum resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The screen supports AMD’s FreeSync and will cost 250 euros.

The AOC Q3279VWFD8 has a refresh rate of up to 75Hz, although it is not clear in which frequency range FreeSync is supported to adapt the refresh rate of the monitor to the output of the GPU. The monitor has a gray-to-gray response time of 5ms, a static contrast ratio of 1200:1 and a maximum brightness of 250cd/m². Partly due to this value of the maximum brightness, support for HDR is missing.

Unlike the previously released Q3279VWF, the Q3279VWFD8 does not have an mva panel but an IPS panel. It is an 8 bit panel with frame rate control, which should lead to a better color experience, as if it were a 10 bit panel. However, the screen does not get further than a display of 88 percent of the NTSC color space.

As far as the connections are concerned, there are single inputs for VGA, HDMI, DVI and displayport, as well as a 3.5mm connection. The monitor should be widely available in July for a price of 250 euros.
