Rumor: Andromeda device Microsoft has calling function
The Andromeda device that Microsoft is developing would have a calling feature in its current iteration. That’s what Windows Central claims. Nevertheless, it is not a reboot of Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile, the site says.
It’s a dual-screen device that acts as a ‘pocket PC’, claims Windows Central. It should be one of the first devices to use Windows Core OS, the modular base of Windows 10. On top of that, Andromeda OS runs as a shell. It is unknown what features Andromeda adds or removes from Windows. In any case, the device has the ability to make and receive calls, and to receive and send text messages.
Windows Central says Microsoft plans to launch the device before the end of the year. A racing game recently referred to Andromeda OS, with which Microsoft confirmed the existence of that name. There are also patents that refer to a device with two screens. There are no concrete specs or images of the device known.
