A second large technology company is going to establish a large data center at the Agriport A7 complex in Middenmeer in North Holland. It is reported that it concerns Amazon, which has already shown interest.

According to the Noordhollands Dagblad, it is a globally operating software giant of the same caliber as Microsoft, which settles in Middenmeer. However, the company’s name is said to be “an anxiously kept secret.” According to Hollands Kroon Actueel, however, it is almost certainly Amazon. That company would like to focus more on Europe and two years ago it was already very interested in building a data center at the location in question.

The company will initially develop a third of the Agriport A7 plot, about 24 hectares. An extension may follow later. Microsoft has two data centers in Middenmeer and is working on a new complex. Ultimately, a complex of 50 meters wide, 520 meters long and 10 meters high must be built at the Agriport business park, where the data centers can dissipate their heat to greenhouse growers with a combined heat and power installation.
