Corsair has announced a new matx case in the form of the Crystal Series 280X as part of the Computex trade show. The cabinet is fitted with tempered glass panels on three sides. An RGB variant of the housing is also available.

The 280X housing and the RGB version offer space for Matx and Mitx motherboards and a GPU with a maximum length of 30 cm and a height of 15 cm. The cabinet is fitted with tempered glass panels on the front, side and top, through which the inside is visible. There are two halves, with the case half for the drives and psu being completely closed. On that side are also the front connectors, including two USB 3.0 ports, which are located at the top of the cabinet.

In that half there is room for two 3.5″ drives and three 2.5″ copies, in combination with an ATX power supply. The cooling consists of two 120 mm fans at the front, which in the case of the RGB variant are equipped with lighting with 32 individually controllable LEDs. There is also room for a 240mm radiator. Two 120 or 140mm fans, or up to a 280mm radiator, fit at the bottom and top of the cabinet. The maximum height of a CPU cooler is 18cm.

The lighting in the cabinet can be controlled using Corsair’s iCue software, for which the manufacturer has released an update. It works with many of its products, including the Obsidian 500D RGB SE tower, also announced by Corsair, and the Vengeance RGB Pro memory.

The 280X housing is available in black and white. The RGB version costs 174.90 euros, while the variant without lighting has a price of 119.90 euros.
