Free-to-play game Pokémon Quest is coming to Switch and coming to smartphones
Nintendo has released Pokémon Quest on the eShop for the Nintendo Switch. The game features simple graphics reminiscent of Minecraft and will also be coming to Android and iOS later this month. The game is free, but there are in-game purchases.
Pokémon Quest is set on Tumblecube Island and contains the monsters from the Kanto area, or the first generation. Players can assemble a team of three Pokémon. They automatically move around the island, but attacks are carried out by the player.
The free game is all about collecting Pokémon and associated items, and making the monsters stronger. The game works with touch controls and will also be released for Android and iOS at the end of June. Also on smartphones, the game has in-game purchases for certain items.
The Pokémon Company also announced Pokémon: Let’s Go for the Nintendo Switch on Wednesday. That game will be released on November 16 and has integration with smartphone game Pokémon Go.
