Team Xecuter Announces Paid SX Mod For Nintendo Switch – Update

Team Xecuter has announced the SX products for custom firmware on the Nintendo Switch. With that custom firmware, among other things, real-time switching between games is possible, which is not possible with the normal firmware.

Team Xecuter offers two SX products. The license for the custom firmware alone costs $24.95, while a kit with the tools to install the firmware costs $34.95. Those tools are a USB dongle for one-time installation of the modified firmware and a device that replaces the right Joy-Con.

The only big announced feature of the custom firmware so far is real-time game switching. The team promises that more features will follow in future updates. For now, it doesn’t appear that playing cracked games is possible with the modchip, something that would make the product illegal. The custom firmware will be released June 15.

Update, Monday: It seems that there are cracked games in circulation for the Switch. In fact, Xectuer seems to use cracked games to show their swap function.
