Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Cyberpilot Coming July 26
Wolfenstein: Youngblood will be released on July 26 for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The shooter features a co-op function and there will be a Buddy Pass. Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot will be released on the same day for VR headsets.
The Buddy Pass is part of the Deluxe Edition of Youngblood. According to Bethesda, this allows players to invite someone to play together, without that person having to buy the game. The person who is invited can only play the game at the same time as the person who sent the invitation.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is set in Paris in 1980, twenty years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The game is about Jess and Soph, the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz and Anya. Players take on the Nazis as one of those daughters. The game revolves around the co-op mode, but it is also possible to play alone. The other daughter is then played by the computer.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood was developed by MachineGames in collaboration with Arkane Studios, known for Dishonored and Prey. The PC version will be released via Steam and the Bethesda Launcher. On Steam, the standard edition costs 30 euros and the Deluxe Edition with Buddy Pass costs 40 euros. The console versions are in the Pricewatch from 36 euros.
Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot will also be released on July 26. That’s a standalone VR game, set in the same time frame as Youngblood. In Cyberpilot, players are a hacker who helps the French Resistance by taking over robots from the Nazis. The PC version is on Steam for 20 euros and works with the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. Cyberpilot is also coming out for the PSVR headset.
