Switch version of Minecraft gets cross-platform multiplayer on June 21
Microsoft has announced that Minecraft for Nintendo Switch will receive an update on June 21 that will allow co-play with players on other platforms. The game also gains access to other features, such as Gamerscore.
When the so-called Bedrock update is installed, you can play together with players on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Windows 10 computers, Android devices, and phones and tablets with iOS, Microsoft writes. The PlayStation 4 is noticeably absent from this, which turned out to be due to a ‘commercial discussion’ last year.
With the update, the game will also get other features available on the above platforms, such as the ability to collect achievements and Gamerscore. In addition, Switch players can visit the Minecraft Marketplace, where game worlds, skins and texture packs from other players can be purchased.
