HP equips EliteBook and ProBook laptops with Ryzen Pro processors
HP introduces new EliteBook and ProBook laptops with Ryzen Pro processors. The business laptops come on the market with screen sizes of 13.3″, 14″ and 15.6″. The cheapest EliteBook model costs 799 euros.
HP supplies the laptops with the Pro variants of the Ryzen 7 2700U, 5 2500U and 3 2300U. AMD announced those processors early this year. In terms of specifications, they are the same as regular Ryzen Mobile processors, but they support better security, better management and are guaranteed to be available unchanged for two years.
Three models of the EliteBook G5 appear, the 735, 745 and 755, with a screen of 13.3″, 14″ and 15.6″, respectively. HP puts a 256GB or 512GB SSD in the laptops and a maximum of 32GB RAM. The EliteBooks have two USB-C connections, one of which is used to charge the laptop, and the EliteBooks also have a USB type-a port, an HDMI 2.0 connection, an Ethernet connection and a docking connector.
The 13.3″ and 14″ variants have a 50Wh battery, while the 15.6″ model has a battery capacity of 56Wh. The screen resolution of all versions is 1920×1080 pixels and HP supplies the laptops with Windows 10 Pro. An lte modem is optional.
HP EliteBook G5 Series
Together with the EliteBooks, HP presents the ProBook 645 G4, which is a thicker 14″ laptop that comes with the same processors. This model also has a VGA connection.
According to HP, the new EliteBook 705 G5 models and the ProBook 645G will be available this month. The cheapest EliteBook costs 799 euros and the ProBook has a starting price of 749 euros. In the press release, HP does not mention what specifications buyers can expect for that money.
