As of May 20, Microsoft will stop supporting Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and Yammer on Windows Phone. The apps will disappear from the Microsoft Store and will no longer receive updates.

Skype for Business and Yammer will continue to work if users have already installed the apps, Microsoft reports. However, the apps no longer receive updates and Microsoft no longer provides support. For Microsoft Teams, the curtain will fall completely from May 20. From then on, users who want to connect to the service with a Windows smartphone will see an error message.

Microsoft refers users of Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams to the mobile apps for iOS and Android and the desktop applications for Windows and Mac. Yammer users can choose to use the browser version on their Windows smartphones.

In the announcement, Microsoft says that the company will continue to support the Windows 10 Mobile operating system, but that there is no focus on creating new features. Microsoft does say it will continue to invest in the messaging apps for iOS and Android and the desktop applications for Windows and Mac.
