A group of modders have created a modified version of the game Halo Online, called ElDewrito. The remake, once released, is primarily intended to allow players to host multiplayer sessions themselves.

The group behind ElDewrito has released a video showing what the Halo Online remake will look like. The description shows that the makers mainly want to give players the opportunity to host play sessions, where there are various options; for example, a ‘social’ server can be opened, but ranked games are also an option. Everyone can therefore host games, but it is also possible to set up dedicated servers.

The modified version of Halo Online will be released on April 20, under version number 0.6. Those interested can then download the game via a special Reddit page. The necessary installation instructions will also be listed on the page. There are also links to previous versions of ElDewrito, but this is not an official release.

Halo Online was originally supposed to be released by Microsoft, but they eventually decided to cancel the game. The online game was only intended for the Russian market, and was put on hold after a test period and a series of delays.
