Rumor: Nest wants to buy Nokia’s Health division
Google company Nest is said to be interested in buying Nokia’s Health division. The Finnish company previously announced that it is investigating whether it wants to sell its Health branch or not. It is unknown what Nest would be willing to pay.

Nest is one of four interested parties, Wareable reports based on its own sources. The French newspaper Les Echos recently claimed that there are four candidates. Of these, two would be European and two from another continent. Nokia set up its Health division through an acquisition of France’s Withings two years ago.
According to Wareable, Nest is interested in Nokia Health because it wants to become active in the market for e-health products. Until now, Nest made thermostats and security cameras, among other things. Nokia Health produces, among other things, scales with an internet connection, a sleep tracker for under the mattress and smartwatches such as the Nokia Steel HR.
The French government would like to see the former Withings return to French hands, which, according to Wareable, would reduce Nest’s chances. Nokia Health would therefore remain European. Nest has not responded. Nokia says it is still considering its options. This has been happening since February.
