AMD puts name ‘Radeon RX 500X Series’ on its site
AMD mentions the name Radeon RX 500X Series on its site, without giving further details about the new series of video cards. Presumably these are cards based on the Polaris GPU with somewhat higher clock speeds than the RX 500 series.
AMD has not yet officially announced the Radeon RX 500X series and it is not clear when the cards will be available, but the page for the series is online. The name appears a week after TweakTown posted the rumor that AMD would come with this series.
According to the tech site, these are cards that are 5 to 6 percent faster than the current Radeon RX 500 cards, but do not contain anything new. The 500X cards should be released in June or July.
The Radeon RX 580 and 570 cards appeared a year ago and were already rebrands of the RX 480 and 470 cards with slightly higher clock speeds. The cards are built around AMD’s Polaris GPU.
