MSI introduces gaming laptops with Intel hexacores

MSI has announced new laptops for gamers featuring Intel’s new Coffee Lake processors. These are 15.3″ and 17.3″ laptops in the GL, GP, GE and GT series. The GT83 with 18.4 “screen also gets a Coffee Lake-H hexacore.

MSI is releasing variants of the GL63 and GL73 Leopard with 15.6″ and 17.3″ screens with a Core i5-8300H and Core i7-8750H, two hexacores in Intel’s new Coffee Lake H series. These laptops get 8GB DDR4, and a combination of a 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD that rotates at 5400rpm. The video card is Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1050, while the GL73 is a model with GTX 1050 Ti. The resolution is 1920×1080 pixels and the keyboards of these laptops only have red backlighting. The other laptops have RGB backlighting.

The GP63 and GP73 Leopard will only be available with a Core i7-8750H. MSI releases models of both laptops with 8 and 16GB of ram, and with a GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060. The SSD storage capacity is 256GB and there is 1TB HDD storage, but only the GP63 8RE-047NL is a PCI -e 3.0 SSD and a HDD with a speed of 7200 instead of 5400rpm. The GP73 8RD-008NL has a 120Hz screen with a response time of 3ms as a striking feature.

The GE63 Raider and the two variants of the GE73 laptop all have a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The processor is the Core i7-8750H, there is 16GB of RAM and the storage capacity is provided by a PCI-e SSD of 256GB and a 7200rpm HDD of 1TB. The GE63 has a GTX 1060 and the GE73 gets a GTX 1070 from MSI.

The thin GS Stealth series includes GS65 models with 15.6″ screen at 144Hz and GS73 laptops with 17.3″ screen at 120Hz. The resolution is 1920×1080 pixels, but the GS73 also comes with a model with UHD resolution. The GS series gets the GTX 1060 and GTX 1070, depending on the model. The processor is the Core i7-8750H on all models, but only the GS65 gets a 512GB PCI-e SSD; the GS73 gets a 256GB PCI-e SSD and a 1TB HDD.

The GT63 and GT75 laptops come on the market with full-HD and UHD screens, with the full-HD versions having a refresh rate of 120Hz. There will be models with Core i7-8750H, Core i7-8850H and Core i9-8950HK, and as far as video card goes, there is a choice of the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080. The largest laptop is the GT83 8RG-017NL, which has an 18 4″ screen, Core i7-8850H, 32GB, two 256GB SSDs in addition to a 1TB HDD and a duo of GTX 1080 cards. Prices are not yet announced by MSI.
